Plenty of tears over Facebook crashing…

If ever we needed proof that our lives are consumed by social media, just look at the reactions to Facebook going down for less than an hour!

Twitter blew up in a whole different way with the hashtag #Facebookdown trending as users reacted to what must have been somewhat of an online apocalypse to them.

Bookmaker sportsbet.com.au has come to the rescue though by giving punters the opportunity to bet on which site will hit the skids next, with Facebook leading the market on $3.00.

Twitter ($3.50) is on the second perch followed by Snapchat ($4.00), Instagram ($4.50) and YouTube ($8.00).

Lauren Eagle can rest her swiping ways in the knowledge that Tinder is an outsider at $9.00 while CV pimping site LinkedIn rounds out the market on $11.

“It’s probably for this reason alone that Facebook hasn’t incorporated a dislike feature but lightening can strike twice and with their gazillion users they’re rightly favourites to crash again,” sportsbet.com.au’s Will Byrne said.
